Content Management for Declarative Web Site Design

چکیده
Web site design and construction is characterised by the use of a number of poorly integrated technologies – mark-up languages, databases, server side middleware, client side scripting languages, etc. The absence of an integrated structure means that reusability and site maintenance are difficult to achieve. Instead of this, we are building a component-based declarative web site design system, in which all aspects of a site (whole sites, pages, style sheets, layouts, data sources, scripts, HTTP objects and XHTML fragments) are described uniformly using a high level component model and the site is generated automatically from the component description. Managing content is clearly a vital part of this and this paper describes how a high level model is used to describe content. Topics. New Architectures for Data Integration. Declarative Web Design. Declarative Web Site Management with Tiramisu
Early research in declarative web-site management identi ed a key principle: the separation of data management, site structure, and page presentation. This separation was made through the introduction of a logical representation, the site graph, de ned as a view over underlying data. While the separation of these three tasks provides many bene ts, existing systems require that the user implemen...

An increasing number of web sites have their data extracted from relational databases. Several commercial products and research prototypes have been moving in the direction of declarative speciication of the sites' structure and content. Speciically, the entire site is speciied using a collection of queries describing the site's nodes (corresponding to web pages and the data contained in them) ...

متن کاملCaching Strategies for Data-Intensive Web Sites
Data-intensive Web sites serve large volumes of pages whose content is dynamically extracted from a database. Such Web sites have very high software development and maintenance costs and in general o er poor response times due to the heavy interaction with the database system. This paper introduces the Weave management system developed at INRIA, which alleviates the above shortcomings of data-i...
